Training and certification for CPR First Aid and using Automated External Defibrillator device in cases of cardiac emergencies.
This course covers CPR (Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation ) procedures, rendering First Aid, and the use of Automated External Defibrillator Devices. The course includes the following:
* Recognizing emergency situations involving cardiac arrest and acting quickly to mitigate the situation.
* High quality CPR: How to perform CPR and components of High Quality CPR
* AEDs: How to safely and effectively use an Automated External Defibrillator Device (AED)
* How to protect yourself from potentially infectious bodily fluids and blood (Universal Procedures)
*Breathing and compression: How to perform rescue breathing and chest compressions.
*Using bag valve mask ventilation, pulse checks, air way management, choke relief applications, etc.
The AHA (American Heart Association) recommends renewing basic life support (BLS) skills every two years.
There is a written CPR exam (consisting of multiple choice questions) which tests your knowledge of CPR basics, protocols, best practices, and when and how to perform CPR.
